Website of Russian Chess Federation brought an article "Creative Play - The Best Recipe Against Kasparov" which was inspired by yesterday’s simultaneous display on 15 boards played by former world champion, Garry Kimovich Kasparov, against juniors.
They made two draws (!), one of which was made by the champion of Russia Under 10, Catherine Goltseva.
(You can read an interview with her under the headline Ekaterina Goltseva: "I Couldn't Break Through, and Kasparov Offered Me a Draw".)
The girl chose against Kasparov an extremely rare variation of Caro-Kann, 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 Na6!?, and Garry Kimovich couldn’t do anything with the Black’s bastions.
Second draw with world ex-champion was made by Kiryll Kozionov.
Just a little bit of luck was needed for Alexei Sarana. He finally lost, nevertheless, he was very close to draw.
Kasparov emphasized the high quality of players of
this session and analysed the games with them.
Mr Kasparov, I am your fan. Could you please answer my "heretic" questions?
