Grantham King's Win 1st British WS Team Tournament - Division 3

It was a good season of correspondence chess for Grantham King's. The team won 1st British WS Team Tournament - Division 3 and was promoted into Division 2 next season. The members of winning team were Ivan David, Phill Becket, William Grummitt and Tom Claxton.

Phill Becket on the second board demonstrated his aggressive style, he gained for the team 6 points and unfortunately lost one game only to Reyes Maldonado of Scheming Mind C.
In following game you can see the way he crushed Peter Tibbert of BCCA Endgamers.
His opponent employed Petroff Defence and Phill went for the most aggressive setup.




It was a brilliant combination with double sacrifice followed by massive attack on hopeless Black King. Very well played!
