Magnus Carlsen is the highest rated grandmaster in the Tata Steel Wijk aan Zee Chess Tournament this year.
In the first round he beat the Azerbaijanian grandmaster Vugar Gasimov, next day he drew with Black pieces against Vassily Ivanchuk from Ukraine and today he beat his biggest rival and the second highest rated GM in this tournament, the Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian.
After three rounds Carlsen takes the lead with 2½.
